Mexican Style Gujiya Starter, Veg
Ingredients:
For Dough:
1½ Cup Maida
½ Cup Semolina
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Pinch Baking Soda
½ Cup Oil
For Stuffing:
1 Cup Boiled Beans
1 Finely Chopped Capsicum
¼ Cup Grated Cheese
1 Tomato (finely chopped)
½ Teaspoon Salt
2 Teaspoons Oregano
2 Teaspoons Chili Flakes
1 Teaspoon Cumin Powder
1 Tablespoon Hot Tomato Sauce
1 Tablespoon Oil
Method
- Take maida, semolina, salt, baking soda and mix the oil well.
- Knead the hard dough by adding a little water, and keep it covered for 30 minutes.
- Heat the oil in a pan and cook the capsicum. Add chopped tomatoes and cook.
- Add tomato sauce and cook for 1 minute. Add beans as well as all the spices and cook.
- Crush the Rajma with a spoon or with a messer. Finally mix the cheese and keep it to cool.
- Roll out the dough as per the size of mold.
- Put a roll in mold and fill it with stuffing.
- Close the Gujiya by applying water on the edge and remove the excess dough.
- Preheat the oven and bake the gujiya for 18 minutes at 180 degrees.
- Serve hot gujiya with sauce.
